Today was my mum’s birthday, so my family went on a escapade around places which we haven’t been to for ages. We left the house at 10am this morning for the SAFRA Yishun Country Club – I’ve not been there for almost a year and a half. I brought along my camera, and the adventure [...]

Batam Island
I made a trip with my family to Batam island, which is in Riau Islands Province of Indonesia, last weekend. The 415 km² (160 miles²) island has a population of 713,960 in December 2006[1], most of whom are Malays (85%) and Chinese (14%). A few indigenous Orang Laut tribes also live on the island. Up in Smoke and Flames
My solo trip to the Little India area was up in smoke and flames because of bad weather, and as a result, I went all the way back to Jurong to purchase a few items to burn.

Port Klang (Malay: Pelabuhan Klang) is the one of the main ports of Malaysia, located in the district of Klang in the state of Selangor. It serves the Klang Valley, including the federal capital Kuala Lumpur and federal administrative capital Putrajaya.
As part of my holiday, I cruised my way there with my family on [...]

Nan Hua High Road Run 2008
Nan Hua High had its road run yesterday, and this run had an extra element set into it. Students had picnics right after the run, and mass games were also organised.

PPP – Personally Painful Programme
I had my PPP – Professional Preparation Programme (Not Personal Painful Programme, I was kidding.) today from 9am to 230pm. It was not exactly pure torture, but the topic was completely irrelevant to my studies. Who would want to know about how to dress to work at a bank? I won’t even be working in [...]

Drum Xchange Singapore Performance
Talented drummers turned up for a Drum Xchange Performance at Hong Kah West Community Centre last night, entertaining their audience with a spectacular rocking medley of drum beats. Be it solos or “duets”, the musicians cooked up a storm at the community centre, drawing the attention of the neighbourhood and bringing life to music.

Escape!
It’s not easy to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city; seriously not many places to go to for nature shoots. As such, I ended up at the Botanical Gardens yet again today with XJ.

Bukit Batok / Jurong Town
The name Jurong is probably derived from the Malay word jerung, which means a “shark”. There were, however, no sharks around today when I took a short stroll around the dear town. Instead, there was a carnivorous bird.

Chinese New Year Day 2
Which Chinese New Year is complete without the annual tossing of yusheng? This year’s tossing was quite chaotic, and gosh, even my Ah ma had to take cover.

Happy Chinese New Year!
As part of the annual CNY tradition, I returned to Nan Hua this morning… Not many ex-students came back this year, but anyways, I shot a series of photographs to mark the occasion.
